From October 8 to 10, 2025, Milan will host Sustainable Places, one of the most important European events dedicated to sustainability in the construction, energy, and smart cities sectors.
The event brings together companies, research centers, and European institutions to share experiences and solutions on the key issues of green transition, the circular economy, energy efficiency, and industrial resilience.

Syxis, of which Holonix is a founding partner, will participate with its own desk and will be the protagonist of several workshops, bringing the results and developments of its digital innovation and manufacturing sustainability projects to European attention.
Holonix and sustainability in the building sector
For years, Holonix has addressed the challenges of sustainability in the building and Building Management Systems (BMS) sectors, developing digital solutions for efficient building management, reduced energy consumption, and optimized maintenance processes.
Through the integration of digital twins, data analytics, and collaborative platforms, Holonix supports companies and operators on the path to intelligent, safe, and sustainable buildings.
Participation in Sustainable Places therefore represents an ideal opportunity to share experiences, present projects, and strengthen European synergies on these issues.
The Syxis workshops at Sustainable Places 2025
Thursday, October 9 | 11:00–12:30 | Room 3.
Workshop: From Resilient Factories to Sustainable Places.
Syxis will present the Multimold and RaRe2 projects, dedicated to resilient manufacturing and the digitalization of production processes.
- RaRe2 (Resilient and Reconfigurable Manufacturing Ecosystem) develops a flexible and collaborative ecosystem for the rapid reconfiguration of European production lines, promoting skills and technologies for industrial resilience.
- Multimold introduces a new production process based on in-mold electronics and recyclable materials, capable of integrating sensors and advanced functions for complex products, helping to reduce waste and production costs.
Friday, October 10 | 11:00–12:30 | Room 1.
Workshop: Re-valuing Resources: Cross-sectoral Circular Solutions for a Sustainable Future.
Syxis will participate with two major European projects, DeremCo and YouRban:
- DeremCo, of which Holonix is a partner, aims to unlock the potential of composite materials for new circular applications. The project develops digitalized process chains, reuse platforms, and data-driven business models, aligned with the principles of the circular economy in the industrial and building sectors.
- YouRban promotes a participatory urban ecosystem dedicated to recycling and upcycling materials, engaging citizens, artists, designers, and artisans in the creation of new objects through digital and creative processes.
A shared commitment to sustainable transition
The themes of Sustainable Places 2025 reflect European challenges and priorities linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the European Commission’s Societal Challenges.
Among the main areas addressed:
- Energy communities, smart cities, and urban transition
- Sustainable construction and renovation
- Decarbonisation, circularity and resilience
- Renewable technologies and digital twins for sustainability
By participating in this event, Holonix and Syxis reaffirm their commitment to fostering sustainable innovation, the digitalization of the building sector, and the creation of collaborative ecosystems for a greener and more interconnected society.
